Here's the brittish cover if you haven't seen it already. As always it is nicer than the american.

They just want all of our money. They'll probably forget anyone pre-ordered and make them pay again...
If it *is* done then, it'll make a wonderful belated burthday present for me _________________ What we need to make this place perfect is a Reverse Microwave!

At least you can get hardcover for less than $20. Though you may be waiting for a while for the book... _________________ "The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites'." --Larry Hardiman

But finnish covers are still the best. But british cover is okay, not amazing but okay. And american cover is just simply stupid-looking. _________________ I've given up the search for reality; now I'm just looking for a good fantasy.

There were worse quasy Harlequin Romance covers back in the day. _________________ "Americans [have] the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust their people with arms."

Heh. I remember those. The first time I read A Game of Thrones was in the original HR paperback. I acctually thought it looked pretty nifty. _________________ When Adam delved and Eve span, who was then the gentleman?

My first 3 are the paperback ones with the paintings on them (guy on horse- who is that by the way?, melisandre & stannis, and the tully funeral)... They're getting ragged now, so I think it's time I updated to the hardcover ones. _________________ "The only difference between the saint and the sinner is that every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future." -Oscar Wilde

I can only assume it's Jon. There's a white wolf running behind him, he's wearing black, his sword has a wolf's head at the pommel, there's a raven flying nearby, and what could either be Winterfell or one of the Watch's forts is burning in the distance. Only problem is he has a beard of all things. _________________ When Adam delved and Eve span, who was then the gentleman?

My original book 1 was the full wrap-around picture of Jon on a white backround, he didnt have a beard though. The one I got after that was the same pic but much smaller, confined to about half the front cover with grey as the backround(not nearly as cool as the big one). I believe Winty you're right about the next two, Stannis and Melisandre with Davos kneeling before them, and book three was Hoster Tully's funeral with Edmure, Cat and a few non important gaurdsmen. Both my hardcover and paperback of book 4 had the same eagle/dragon/chicken looking thing, boring. _________________

You're right, it is Jon. Ghost is cut off on mine, I can see the paw though That guy looks so much older and not how I picture him at all... _________________ "The only difference between the saint and the sinner is that every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future." -Oscar Wilde

I lended my books only to my wife and that's as far as I'm prepared to go
They're all paperbacks with simple pictures on the covers, dragon on the first one, can't remember the following and crown, I think on AFfC. _________________ And ofthen I wonder about the life

Ive come to the conclusion that my George Martin book are like having Metallica CD's, youre bound to lose/misplace/lend them out and never get them back. I must have gone through 4 or 5 different Game Of Thrones, and like 2 or 3 of the others. The ones im lucky enough to get back are returned in various states of shit, including the last one that was once clearly submerged in water
I too have people ask me to borrow them again but I tell them to get their own, I mean a paperback is like 5-6 bucks, get your own if you like it that much. Cheap bastards _________________

Wow thats messed up. I only lend my books to family members. Everyone else can go to the library I'm very attached to my books and I write my name in them along with the date I've finished reading it. _________________ "The only difference between the saint and the sinner is that every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future." -Oscar Wilde
